HomeMy WebLinkAbout2007-06-13 Harbor Committee Minutes MEETING MINUTES HARBOR COMMITTEE – June 13, 2007 The Harbor Committee met on Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at 7:05 p.m. in the Harbor Master’s Building, with Michael Gilmore presiding. Committee Members in attendance included Councilor Peter D’Errico, Richard Reinhart, Michael Gilmore, Daniel Cassidy, Daniel Field. City Staff included Jim Ring and Gerry Ledwith. The first order of business James Ring gave the Committee an overview of the dock expansion project and provided an outline of the ship naming ceremony for American Cruise Lines ship “American Star” scheduled to arrive on Friday, June 15, 2007 @ 10:00 a.m. Next order of business James Ring outlined the schedule of the excursion boat “Patience” with expected scheduled hours of Thursday through Sunday with one hour cruises starting at 11 a.m. and continuing on two hour intervals and a 1½ hour sunset cruise at approximately 7 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Cruise season will run from mid June to mid October. A copy of the schedule was forwarded to the Committee members. The Committee discussed possible opportunities for a private shuttle and the possible need to reconfigure the docks during the American Folk Festival. Daniel Cassidy expressed the need to have reliable availability for destination boaters. Jim explained the loss of space on Dock #2 due to the presence of the “Patience”. The last item of business Gerry Ledwith provided the Harbor Master’s report on activities. There was some inquiry and discussion of the old harbor master’s building that is currently vacant. The meeting was adjourned at approximately 8:00 p.m.
