The City Nutting Facility is currently experiencing some difficulty filling Certified Nursing Aide
Positions on the second shift. Pamela Smith, the sista of a full-time emPloyeo(Son Moody), has
expressed located in filling certain of these shifts on an ongoing part-time basis. The Citys Nemism
Policy allows the City Council to waive the policy in certain announce each as this when a full-time
employee is involved. Given that these two employees would not be working together, would nes be
supervising one anccha, and the correct vacant shifts son fiecluendy being filled with overtime, it is
recotmneaded that this request be approved.

Re: Request to waive Nepotism Policy 9.6
Date: September 3, 1998
The City Nursing Facility requests a waiver of the Nepotism Policy of section 9.6
of the City Personnel Rules and Regulations.
The current employee is a full time member of the day shift who works as a CNA
(Certified Nursing Assistant). The waiver request is for her sister Pamela Smkh,
to be employed as a part-time, second shit CNA. The second shift is the one for
which the greatest scheduling difficulties occur and where significant overtime
premiums have been paid in the past few weeks.
If the waiver request is granted, these sisters would not ever supervise each
other and would not routinely be scheduled on the same shift.
