This grant is intended to help cover the cost of two (2) Public Health Nurses who work with pregnant women and children from birth to 5 years of age. The services offered include assessment, health education, support and counseling, inter- vention and referral. The philosophy is that preventative maternal and child health services provide for healthier families thus reducing later medical costs. This grant covers the period from 1/01/98 to 12/31/98. The total amount of the is $93,696. Since the amount of this grant exceeds $50,000 future renewals will be subject to the ryp competitive bidding process.
