Item/Subject Public Health Nursing Grant
Responsible Department Health s Welfare
This is the renewal of the MCH Grant which the City of Bangor
has bad with the Department of Boman Services since 1984.
This grant is intended to help cover the cost of two (2)
Public Health Nurses who work with pregnant women and children
from birth to 5 years of age. The services offered include
assessment, health education, support and counseling, inter-
vention and referral. The philosophy is that preventative
maternal and child health services provide for healthier
families thus reducing later medical costs. This grant covers
the period from 1/01/98 to 12/31/98. The total amount of the
is $93,696. Since the amount of this grant exceeds $50,000
future renewals will be subject to the ryp
