HomeMy WebLinkAbout1998-04-13 98-160 ORDERCOUNCIL ACTION Item No. 98-160 Date April 13, 1998 Item/Subject: Authorizing Execution of Municipal Quitclaim Deed -- Real Estate Located at 450 Ohio Street Responsible Department: Legal Commentary: A sewer lien on property located at 450 Ohio Street assessed against Betty Lynne Goodwin was recorded in September, 1996. At the time the lien was recorded the mortgage holder had not been notified, as required by statute. By the time they had learned of the lien, the lien had matured. The bank has since paid the amount of the lien and the deed preparation fee. There are no existing code violations with the property. There are outstanding real estate taxes due for 1997 and 1998. IN CITY COUNCIL .April 13, 1998 Passed CI CL8%IS 98-160 O ROER Title, Authorizing Execution of Municipal Quitclaim Deed Real Estate Located at 450 Ohio .Street ...............................Ammgned to (n/N`LC�t Councilman The CITY OF BANGOR, a municipal corporation located in Bangor, Penobscot County, Maine, as Grantor, for consideration paid, releases to BETTY LYNNE GOODWIN, of Bangor, Penobscot County, Maine, as Grantee, a certain lot or parcel of land, in said Bangor, Penobscot County, Maine, together with the buildings thereon, described as 450 Ohio Street, and being fifty five feet off the westerly or northwesterly side of the following described lot, namely: A certain lot of land situate on the southerly side of Ohio Street in said Bangor, bounded and described as follows, viz: Being one hundred and ten feet on said Ohio Street and extending back southerly the same width, ten rods; beginning at the northeasterly corner of land now or formerly of Sylvester Abbott on said Ohio Street and running southerly on said Abbott's line to land now or formerly of one Tebbetts ten rods thence easterly parallel with said street and ten rods therefrom, one hundred and ten feet; thence northerly and parallel with first mentioned line ten rods to said street; thence on said street westerly one hundred and ten feet to point begun at. Intending hereby to convey a strip as aforesaid off the westerly or northwesterly side of the above described lot fifty five feet wide throughout its whole length. Designated further in City records as Assessor's Map 20, Lot 5. real estate account number 72231. Being the same premises described in a Quitclaim Deed with Covenant from Viola M. Williams to the Grantee herein, dated May 27, 1987, and recorded in Book 4038. Page 315, Penobscot Registry of Deeds. Any and all other rights, easements, privileges and appurtenances belonging to the granted estate are hereby conveyed. The purpose of this deed is to release to the Grantee anY interest She Grantor may have in the above-described property by virtue of an unpaid sewer charge lien assessed against Betty Lynne Goodwin and recorded in Book 6222, Page 78, Penobscot Registry of Deeds. All public easements or other public interests in the described premises for roads, sewers, or other purposes are expressly reserved.
