Over the last several years, the City has made safety a priority. These efforts, however could not be successful withoutthe support and involvement of our employees. The employees of City Nursing have shown[hew commitment to this ell Safety is important to us not only for the cost reductions which we achieved but more ft w+tantly because of the physical and emotional pain and suffering which is associated with workplace injuries. The example of these employees has set a standard ofexcellenee for the eMue City workfome. Department Head Manager's Comments: I recommeral your approval. Completing Two Consecutive Quarters Without aLost Time Workers' Compensation Claim By W City Cnaaoll of the City ofBamor: RESOLVED, WHEREAS, theemployees of the Bangor City Nursing Facility are m be commended for accomplishing their difficult and demanding jobs in a safety conscious mouser, and WHEREAS, the employees of the City Nursing Facility recently completed six months with no lost time Workem' Compensation claims; and WHEREAS, this six-month period represents a significant improvement from prim experience; and WHEREAS, the effort put forth by all employees of Bangor City Nursing Facility is a credit to the improved awareness of and the need for workplace safety; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BANGOR, THAT all City of Bangor Nursing Facility employees are hereby commended foracwmphs gtheirdifficWtmddemandingjobslnasakmanaer. Themonetary savings associated with this effort art insignificant compared to the more important avoidance of pain, suffering, and the emotional trauma that is associated with a workplace injury. The City Nursing Facility has am an excellent standard for the entire City workforce and this effort should serve as errcouragement for all employees to strive for safety in the workplace.
