Item No. 98-71
Date Janus" 12, 1998
Item/Subject: Authorizing Execution of Municipal Quitclaim Deed
-- Mobile Home Located at Queen City Mobile Home
Park (Lot 33)
Responsible Department: Legal
Commentary:
On December 4, 1997, Merrill Merchants paid, on behalf of Thomas
Holland, the balance due on a 1995 matured lien on a mobile home
and the 1996 tax lien before it matured. Treasury staff accepted
the payment in error without collecting the 1997 and 1998 taxes.
The attached Council Order would authorize execution of anicipal
quitclaim deed releasing the City's tax title. The Finance
Committee reviewed this item on January 5th and recommended that
the City issue the deed for the 1995 tax lien to Mr. Holland. The
1996 tax lien was discharged by the Treasurer's office on December
4th.
