The property located at 291 Webster Avenue has a matured 1997 and a
non -matured 1998 tax lien recorded against it, in addition to 1999
taxes. The certified mailing of the notice of foreclosure was
misplaced by the property owner.
Mr. Johnston has given the City a check in full payment of all
outstanding charges. There are no outstanding sewer user fees and
no code issues with the property.
This Order would authorize the City t0 release its interest back to
Mr. Johnston.
The Finance Committee recommended approval at Its March 1st
meeting.

Ronald I. Heller, Finance Director, is hereby
authorized, on behalf of the City of Bangor, to execute a Municipal
Quitclaim Deed releasing any interest the City may have in the real
estate located at 291 Webster Avenue in said Bangor by virtue of an
undischarged real estate tax lien recorded in Book 6909, Page 11
in the Penobscot Registry of Deeds. Said deed shall be directed to
John F. & Lydia C. Johnston, a copy of said deed being attached
hereto.

The CITY OF BANGOR, a municipal corporation located in
Bangor, Penobscot County, Maine, as Grantor, for consideration
Paid, releases to JOHN F. & LYDIA C. JOHNSTON, both Of Bangor,
Penobscot County, Maine, as Grantees, the property located i
Bangor, Penobscot County, Maine, more particularly bounded and
described as follows:
Real estate located at 291 Webster Avenue i
said Bangor, and described in deeds recorded in
Volume 3261, Page 214 and Volume 4008, Page 99,
Penobscot Registry of Deeds. This property is
further designated as Assessor's Map 8, Lot 1A,
real estate account number 02486.
Any and all other rights, easements, privileges
and appurtenances belonging to the granted
estate are hereby conveyed.
The purpose of this deed is to release to the Grantees say
interest the Grantor may have in the above-described property by
virtue of an undischarged real estate tax lien assessed for tax
year 1997 against John F. & Lydia C. Johnston and recorded in Book
6409, Page 11, Penobscot Registry of Deeds.
All public easements or other public interests in the
described premises for roads, sewers, or other purposes are
expressly reserved.
The said CITY OF BANGOR has c sed this inStrument to be
sealed with its corporate seal, and signed in its corporate name by
RONALD I. HELLER, Finance Director, thereunto duly authorized, this
day of March, 1999.
