The City Council has recently completed the annual esluation of the Coy Manager. As a result of that
valuation, a numbo of changes hate been proposes W the employment agreene t between the CRY and the
Manager. These are: establishing an annual saery of $91,952; extruding the term of the agreement from
June 30, 2001 to June 30, 2002; Increasing the notice provisions our contract terminatbn from threw to sm
morths; and clarifying the continued provision of benefits during the period. All other more and conditions of
the contract remain the same.
Thee changes and amendments, which are Cabled on the attaMed Coundl Order, win be effective as of July
1, 1999.

The annual salary for the City Manager is hereby set at MMneryrone thousand four hundred fifty-seven
dollars ($91,457).
Be It Fuller Ordered, Mat Section 2 paragraphs A, C and D of said agreement are hereby amended In
their entirety and replacetl wflh the following:
A. Nothing in this agreement shall prevent, limit or otherwise interfere with the right of the County to
Rsminate Me seMces of Employee at any time, upon one hundred eighty (180) days notice th
Employee subject only to the provisions set foe in Section 3 of one agreement.
C. Employee agrees a remain in the exdusve empty, of Employer until June 30, 2002, and neither W
accept other employment nor to become employed by any other employer so long as this agreement
shall be in eflxt.
D. In the event vaturn notice is not gwen by either party to this agreement to the other one hundred
eighty (180) days prior to Jure 30, 2002, this agreement shall be extended on the same terms and
conditions providing for an additional term of one (1) year, Said agreement shall cm0nue thereafter
for one-year periods unless either parry herein gales one hundred eighty (181)) days written notice to
the other parry that the party does not wish M extend this agreement for an additional one (1) year
term.
M It Further Onderel, that Section 3 of said agreement is hereby amended in its entirety and replaced
with Me fohlovring:
In the event Employee is terminated by the Council before expiration of the aforesaid tern of
employment, or any extension thereof, and during such time that Employee is willing and able to
perform his duties under this agreener, then in that event Employer agrees b pay Employee a lump
sum cash payment equal to six month%aggregate salary. All other Employer provided benefits shall
continue in full farce and coverage for M6 six month pehod. In the evert Employee is terminated
because of his conviction of any illegal M involving personal gain W him, then Employer shall have no
obligation to pay the aggregate severence sum designated in this paragraph or M continue Employer
prodded! benefits, except M the extent that such benefits are required by law or the Personnel Rules
and Regulations of the City of Bangor.
