Order, Referring a Resolve Regarding the Establishment of a MCMatlome Clinic in Me City of Bangor to a Referendum to be Held on November y, 2000. Responsible Department: City Council At its Tart meeting, Me City Council heap from several citizens who requested that Me Council end to referendum a ballot question regarding Me establishment of a methadone clinic in Bangor. This request was made by a group which has been exploring Me mechanics of placing such an Were on the ballet by way of citizen petition. Under the City's procedures, the various mandatory time frames cannot be met in order to have such a question on the November ballot At meeting, Coundlar Blanchette indicated a willingness to sponsor such an action and to have it discusud at the September 13's meeting, the last date by which it could be easily placed on the ballot by Council action. At the time of agenda preparation, the proposed wording for such a ballot question was not - finalized. As a result, the attached order will require amendment by substitution M insert the selected wording. THAT: The City Council of the City of Bangor shall submit the following to be voted on at the next municipal election which is to be held on Lowenthal 9, 2000. "Shall the following Resolve be adopted?
