Eswelopment (WDD) Districts shall comply with the requirements act forth in this section.
A. General requirements.
(1) Neighborhood Service District.
(a) Maximum number of signs per manners (including freestanding signs): done.

At the direction of the Community & Economic I)evelopment Committee A its last meeting, Me Legal
Depsrunem and Code Enforcement Office have drafted an amendment W Me Sign Ordinance as it
relme5 to the Downtown DevelopmentDistrict
The amendment accomplishes two goals. First it helps organize and clarify the Sign Ordinance by
placing Me regWations applicable M Me Airport Development District into new § 360-8.1, and Me
regulations applicable to the Downtown Development District into new § 260.8.2. None of Me sign
regulations applicable to the Aimed Development District were subsMntively changed, however.
Second, Me amendment expands the signage permitted in Me Powntown Development District
Specifically, it will permit northeast "signage" for the following: (a) hospitals which provide
emergency services 24 hours a day; (b) public transportation facilities, Including airports, milroad
stations, bus terminals and ferries; (c) public recreational facilities, such as beaches, perks, sport
senna, sums areas, historical show, mmeums and cultural facilities and Wearers] Mature; (d)
municipal subdivisions, such as central business districts and villages within the city boundarim; ad
(e) Governmental buildings or agencies, such as City Hall, county buildings, schools, courts and
fire and police stations.
This amendment will accommodate all of Me signage requested by the Children's Museum by
permitting the above organizations to have up m Mree banners that are nm counted against Me
organization's maximum number of signs or sign area. The amendment also changes Me regulations
applicable M clocks to permit the incorporation of a symbol, sculpture or other pictorial into Me
clock's design. The new clock regulations are not haired M Me organizations listed above. Finally,
the ommance now exempts one emence signs in or above an entrance from Mc sign ordinance
provided it dos not exceed eight inches in height. This exemption is that, not limited to the
organizations listed above.
Additionally, Me amadment atempta W beMr organize and clarify the regulations applicable to the
Downtown Development District. The amendment now recognizes vertical projecting signs and
modifies the dimensional tormentors en ors on vertical wall signs.
