Item No. 10 -``-
Date: March 22, 2010
Item/Subject: Ordinance, Amending Chapter 9, § 9-8 of the Code of the City of Bangor –
Standing Committees
Responsible Department: Legal
Commentary:
The Code of the City of Bangor provides that three members of the Bangor City Council serve on
the City Council's Government Operations Committee, Infrastructure Committee, Airport
Committee, and Business and Economic Development Committee. The Code provides that a
majority of the City Council's Government Operations Committee, Infrastructure Committee,
Airport Committee, and Business and Economic Development Committee may approve a lease
up to a term of three years. As a result it is possible that two of nine councilors can approve a
lease of three years.
This Ordinance amendment will delete that provision and all leases will require approval of the
full council.
