HomeMy WebLinkAbout2024-10-16 City Council Minutes MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING BANGOR CITY COUNCIL—OCTOBER 16, 2024 Meeting called to order at 7:30 PM Chaired by Council Chair Pelletier Councilors Absent: Tremble Meeting adjourned at 8:40 PM PUBLIC COMMENT Scott Pardy gave an update on Fresh Start. Several Fresh Start residents spoke about how the homes are operated and the support and opportunities they are given in the program. Justin Cartier spoke against fluoridating Bangor's water. Kelly Hachey wanted something to be done about the pool that was breeding mosquitos in the LancasterAvenue neighborhood. Several individuals spoke in favor offulltime employees for the Community Connector so that they could have Saturday services. Sandy Mclntosh expressed her frustration with the developrrzent behind her house and the damage it has caused to her property. Doug Dunbar spoke in support of the bus service and also about not closing the encampment without viable solutions. Tamra Benson was thankful for the efforts regarding the homeless encampment and would like to see unhoused people included in future conversations. Jackson Peck wanted to know why the encampment needed to be closed now rather than in the spring. CONSENT AGENDA ASSIGNED TO ITEM NO.
