Palmer, Jr. Councilor Judy Vardamis OTHER COUNCILORS PRESENT: Councilor Patricia Blanchette Councilor Michael Crowley STAFF PRESENT: Edward A. Barrett, Ciiy Manager Rodney G. McKay, Director of Community&Economic Development Steve Bolduc, Economic Development Officer Peter D'Errico, Economic Development Officer Sally Burgess, Development Projects Coordinator Mike Dyer, Director of Bass Park � Jeff Russell, B.I.A. OTHERS PRESENT: Steve Robbins The meeting was called to order by Committee Chair, Councilor Aube at 4:00 PM. ITEM#1 -Marketing Staff and Committee met to focus on the City's marketing needs and efforts. Over the past 6 months, this Committee has been involved in trying to learn what other communities as well as from the state level and the regional level are doing with respect to their marketing efforts. Discussion focused on what each City department is currently spending on marketing. Rod McKay, Director of Communiiy &Economic Development, reviewed the various allotted budgets for this purpose as follows. The Airport, $127,000; Bass Park, $40,000; Golf Course, $8,000; Parking Fund, $1,900; Economic Development Division, $25,500; City Nursing Facility, $4,600; BanAir, $5,000; Bangor Center Corporation, $5,100 and $50,000 which the City contributes to the Bangor Convention& Business Bureau annually. These budgets total upwards to over a quarter of a million dollars. After review and discussion of each departments marketing budgets, Councilor Aube aslced that the marketing activities/costs be broken down in more detail to reflect what is spent � for each department's actual marketing efforts and brought back to the Committee for further discussion. Meeting adjourned at approximately 6:00 PM.
