Item l: Sign Approval. Jeffrey Russell introduced the request for approval for a sign to
be attached to the Free Trade Zone Building. Bob Ziegelaar pravided the necessary
explanation upon re-entering the room and the Committee approved the same without
debate.
� Item 2: Marketing Research. Bob Ziegelaar explained that the original request for outlay
for marketing research wark,to be undertaken by the GA2, in the amount of$10a,000
has been nearly depleted. The Airport Department currently has the need for an outlay af
additional funds in the amount of$28,400, to support sales approaches to a new set of
caniers and updated approaches to previously targeted carriers. The objectives are either
new services or increased servzce levels. After a discussion abaut some of the details of
the work to be undertaken, the Committee vot�d to authorize the additional outlay.
Item 3: Telford Aviation Lease. The Airport Directar explained that the current lease
with the company needed to be updated to reflect the inclusion ofthe newly constructed
facility. The current lease has another two years left. The Department is alsa negotiating
a long-term lease to replace the current lease. The new lease will cover a minimum of a
ten-year periad. Councilor Tremble asked if the previously diseussed arrangement
cancerning interior building improvements had been finalized. Mr. Ziegelaar confirmed
the same, stating that he had negotiated an arrangement whereby a totat of$92,000 would
be spent on leasehald irnprovements, with Telford Aviation paying $1'7,000. The
Committee vated to accept both the iease amendment and the interior irnprovements.
Item 4: Buszness Update. 7eff Russetl reported that the PanAm baakings have
quadrupled since the Airport started advertising itself and the PanAm services in the
Pittsburgh and Orlando markets. Boakings increased from 35 per day to 135 per day. In
additian the Airport has been successful in causing complete travel packages to be
� offered in conjunction with the PanAm service product. Councitar Pa]mer suggested that
the media be briefed about the success with the PanAm operatians.
