� 3. The Bangor School Depai�tment and the Bangc�r School Committee recognized Bangor High
5�hoo1 seniar, Liam Reading,as this year's winner of the CQngressional Ari Competitio�►�ar
Maine's Second District for his art giece,"T'he Widow". The Congressianal Art Competition ;
� started in 1982#t�pravide an oppartunity for students ta demonstrate their artistic abilitiss and ,
exceptional talen� Each spring, students subrnit artwork and the wfnners pieces are hung in
the halls of the United States Capitoi. In Maine, the winners are selected by j�rcrrs of the
� Maine Arts Commission and are offered a sehalarship to Maine Coliege af Art. The winners
are then invited to a reception at the Blaine House to recognize their outstanding artwork.The
overall winner, our Bangor High School senior, has been invited to #ravel to Washir�gton,
caurtesy of competition sponsors,to partiaipate in�n opening cerem�ny.

his concems ofthe FYIb Scho�l Budget.

Howevsr, no actian was taken given there was not a quorum. The Heating and Plumbing �
program did a presentation and enrollment for the falf was reviewed.

I. Committee Member Susi ihanlced cirizens and staff for attending the City Couneil meering and
showing their support of the FY16 School Budget.
