HomeMy WebLinkAbout2022-10-12 City Council Minutes MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING BANGOR CITY COUNCIL—OCTOBER 12, 2022 Meeting called to order at 7.30 PM Chaired by Council Chair Fournier Councilors Absent.Davitt,Hawes,Leonard Adjourned at 8:34 PM PROCLAMATION Proclaimed October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month PUBLIC COMMENT Cara Pelletier, a member of Advisory Committee on Racial Equity,Inclusion and Human Rights,stated the committee will be doing a series of educational events to highlight holidays and observances. She stated part of the committee's mission is to develop ideas and information to help educate individuals in the government and community to raise awareness and sensitivity to equity and diversity. She stated that October is National Disability Awareness Month. Lucy Quimby presented the City Council with new maps of the Penjajawoc trail system. Scott Pardy asked the City Council when they would be deciding on how they will use the ARPA funds. John King spoke about homelessness, mental health issues and the need to support the police. He was interested in learning what the results were of the survey the City did on the use of the ARPA funds and urged the City not to procrastinate. Mike Tuller supported Scott Pardy and was also interested in how the ARPA funds would be used Council Chair announced that the City Assessor,Philip Drew had received the Assessor of the Year award and thanked him for his service to the City.
