Tax Sharing Plan By the City Comeit of the qty ofBauyor RESOLVED, THAT WHEREAS the continuing demands for more and better services from local government are imposing a serious burden ort the general property tax and, WHEREAS the general property tax is the primary source of revenue for local governments in the United States and, WHEREAS a plan for sharing federal taxes has been drafted by Representative Charles E. Goodell for consideration by Congress in 1967, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City Council of the City of Bangor supports such a tax sharing plan and earnestly requests favorable consideration be given by the United States Congress and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT copies of this Resolution be forwarded immediately to Senators Margaret Chase Smith and Edmund S. Muskie and to Congressman William D.
