as established by the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Bangor on January T, 1954, as
emended, be hereby further amended as follows:
To change it= Residential "A" z s to Residential "C" zone parcels of
land located west of Union Street, north of Sunset Avenue and east of the University
of Maine south campus; being more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the Neat side line of Onion Street being 611.64
feet norm of the north comer of Union and Sunset Avenue
Thence in a westerly direction along the north line of Hammond property
for a distance of 4281 (feet), more or less, to a point being the north west corner
of the Refused lot
Thence in a southerly direction along the west lines of Hammond and Hollis
for a distance of 202 feet, more e
Or less, to the south west c of the Hollis lot
Manes in a westerly direction along the north live of Helen Center for a
distance of 232' (feet), m r less, to a point being the south west corner of
Gailneel Realty Corporatioe
names in a northerly direction along the east lines of Dyer and University
of Maine land for a distance of 394 feet, more or less, to the north west coiner of
Gailnoel Realty Corporation
Thence it at easterly direction along the common line between pelletal
Realty Corporation and Bangor Union Development Corporation for a distance of 554.29
feet to the north west comer of land owned by Jeanine Stewart
Thence in southerly direction along the war Line of Stewart for a distance
of 100 feet to a paint being the south treat corner of the Stewart lot
Thence in easterly direction along the south line of Stewart for a distance
of 100 feet to a point on the West side line of Union Street
Thence in a southerly direction along the west aide line of Onion Street for
a distance of 150' (feet) to the point of beginning.
Thus intending to describe certain parcels of land containing 191,205 square
feet, more or less, and also referred to as parcels Of and 9D of the City of Bangorta

Gentlemen:
Please be advised that the Planning Board on July 6, 1970 voted to
reconsider the question of te,oving this parcel Residential "C". The Board
scheduled and held a second Public Hearing July 20, 1970 on the request.
Me Board gave very careful consideration to the request, to those
opposed to the change and to the several possibilities for multi -family housing.
The Planning Board after very careful and lengthy consideration voted
3-2 to approve the request for a ever change.

Gentlemen
Please be advised that the Planning Board held a Public Hearing on
June 15, 1970 on the above request.
The Planning Board gave very careful consideration to the proposal
as presented as well as objections to such change.
After considerable discussion of the merits of the proposal, the need
for such housing, the effect on the general a which would be most directly
affected and on the volume of traffic such increased density would have, the
Planning Board voted to deny the request.
