The Honorable Dennis D. Soucy
Mayor of Bangor
City Hall
Bangor, HE 04401
Dear Major Soucy
In view of my election to the city council
on October 11, 1977, 1 am submitting my resignation
as a member of the Superintending School Committee
to be effective November 7, 19770 the date that
new councilors will be scam into office.
Althought it is not clear that I could not
serve on the school committee for the remaining
year of my 3rd term, common sense would indicate
that if I an to be effective as a new councilor,
and if Iwish to avoid any possible conflict of
Interest, the remainder of my term should be filled
by another citizen.
I request that the city council set the election
date for a new school committee member on the date
already established for the state referendum on repeal
of the property tax, December $.
I have enoyed my duties on the school committee
since originally elected in January, 1972, and I
look forward to working for our citizens on the
city council.
Respectfully
,,))ectfully yours,
Albert a oath, Jy[
