Meeting Minutes
City Councilors Present:Davitt, Graham, Nealley, Nichols, Perry, Tremble.
City Staff Present:Conlow, Emery, Nicklas, Wallace
Chair Nealley called the meeting to order at 6P.M.
1.REFERRAL –COUNCIL ORDINANCE 18-338, Amending Chapter 260, Signs,
Section 260-7, by Allowing Larger Signs for Parking Garages.
Councilor Davitt moved referral of Council Ordinance, seconded by Councilor
Nichols. 4-1 Tremble against.
2.ORDINANCE,Amending Chapter 260, Signs, §260-7, by Allowing Vertical
Projecting Signs for Educational and Cultural Places of Assembly in the Downtown
Development District.
Councilor Nicholas moved referral of Ordinance, seconded by Councilor Davitt.
Vote unless doubted, no doubt.
Councilor Tremble requesting that we define “cultural.”
3.Outdoor Seating for Restaurants
Heaters are okay, furniture is okay if it’s specifically for outdoor use. Councilors
Davitt, Nichols and Tremble agree. Remove from DBP, everyone is okay with this
except Councilor Graham. Staff will keep DBP representative but if they cannot
participatewill move on an item without their vote.
Councilor Nichols moved staff recommendation, seconded by Councilor Davitt.
Vote unless doubted, no doubt.
4.472 Essex Street
Councilor Nichols moved staff recommendation, seconded by Councilor Tremble.
Vote unless doubted, no doubt.
5.Property Maintenance Checklist
Property Maintenance Checklist was created in conjunction with Code
Enforcement and the Development Coordinator for use on the website for property
owners.
Meeting adjourned at 6:49PM.
