Item No. 11:" Amending Zoning Ordinance - Airport Zone - City of
Bangor - C.O, # 89-225 -
a. The Proposed changes to the Airport Zone ape
result of
review of the zone in the light of it being applied to areas
Of private ownership Outside of the Airport complex proper.
This
raised questions about the aye of uses included as
we l as tact that the present Airport zone has basically
development standards. The development standards pro-
posed are basically those for the 1-2 Zone and the maJnr
changesto the Permitted uses
eliminate a blank check inclu-
sion
of C-2 and C-3 zoning®
uses and add several specific
uses which appear appropriate to the Airport complex.
b. The I-2 development standards are appropriate to the type of
industrial and Airport'c ial development which takes
Place on the Airport and oi'nsfact, these type of standards
have been applied to City leases in the past.
C. The C-2 and C-3 Zone inclusion in the Airport Zone has been
deleted and what has been atltletl is hotels and motels, trans-
portation uses, business and professional Office and govern -
ental office, and automobile rental agency. Obyiaumly,
most of the commercial type "sea
ratltletl are those that compli-
ant the terminal area itself and is necessary to oupport
normal air terminal functions.
d. Staff would recommend that the Planning Board recommend this
proposed zoning amendment to the City Council."
