Minutes
The Penjajawoc Watershed Citizen Review Panel met at Rangeley Hall at 4:30 �
pm. In attendance were panel members Jim Tyler, Valerie Carter, Charles Rohn, George
Elliott, Tom Davis,lames Gerety, Bob Quirk, Joyce Hedlund (Vice-Chair),John Cashwell �
(Chair), Trish Hayes, and Lucy Quimby, and staff members Ed Barrett,Jim Ring, and Paul
Nicklas. �
1. Overview of oroiects currentiv underwav
Jim Ring gave an overview of the stimulus projects being done in the Penjajawoc ,
watershed, using maps created by the Engineering DepartmenYs new GIS
specialist, Sean Gambrel. �
2. Watershed Manaaement Plan —DEP reauest for 10-vear plan
The Panel discussed the Department of Environmental Protection's request to ,
shorten the length of the Penjajawoc Watershed Management Plan. The DEP ,
would like the goal of the Plan to be to achieve Class B status in ten years, rather
than twenty as the Plan currently contemplates. This is the last issue to be
resolved before DEP acceptsthe Plan. '
After some discussion, the Panel tabled this issue in order to give themselves
time to become more familiar with the Plan. ,
3. DIMS studv
The Panel then discussed the DIMS study, which explores the feasibility of �
creating a utility district to help pay for stormwater-related improvements in the
City. Panel members will be able to speak regarding this issue at the upcoming '
joint meeting of the Panel and the Infrastructure Committee.
4. Pro�ress reaort on materials binder ''
City staff is working on a binder for storing documents relevant to the Panel's ,
work. A copy of the binder will be at each meeting; one will also be provided to
those members who requested one.

� The role of the Panel was discussed. Interest was expressed in having a timeline
showing dates relevant to the Panel.
' 6. Approval of Minutes
' As minutes were not distributed before the meeting, approval of minutes was
tabled until the next meeting.
