Commentary:
As explained in a memo from the City Assessor, copy attached, this
Order would grant a partial abatement of FY 1994 taxes to P.G.
Realty Company, owner of the Pilot's Grill property. The tax
amount abated ($2,989.00) represents a downward valuation
adjustment of $135, 900.00. This adjustment was supposed to have
taken effect on the FY 1994 tax commitment list, as one of a number
of valuation adjustments produced by the Assessor's City-wide
survey of commercial properties in March 1993. However, the
adjustment for Pilot's Grill was inadvertently omitted from the FY
1994 commitment list. Council action i d

THAT the City Council of the City of Bangor, acting as
municipal officers of the City of Bangor pursuant to 36 MRSA
S 841(1, hereby abate real estate taxes in the amount of $2,989.00
assessed forBy1994 against property owned by P.G. Realty Company,
and located at 1528 Hammond Street (Tax account no. RE 50063; Tax
Map R-9, Lot 6). This abatement is granted pursuant to 36 MRSA
S 841(1) due to an error in the original commitment list.

Recently, the Assessing Department received a request from
P.B. Realty concerning

in reference to assessed land value.
In March 1993 1 completed a City wide srvey of all
commercial properties and in the processr

of record were notified of the changes -
prior to commitment of tax bills for fiscal year 1994.
Due to an administrative oversight, Pilots Brill did not
receive the adjustment in valuation of land that the notice
indicated they would receive.
This request to the finance cmmittee is for them to Issue an
abatement far fiscal year 1994to P.D. Realty, D/S/A Pilots
Brill.
The adjustment for fiscal year 1994 in valuation was
3135,900.00 (8135,900.00 X .02200 - 82,989.80).
