BANGOR RACEWAV MINUTES BASS PARK COMMITTEE BANGOR CITY HALL APRIL 11, 1990 A special meeting of the Bass Park Committee was called to order by Chairman Sosnaud at 4 : 50 PM. Present were: Jeff Sosnaud, Pat Blanchette, Richard Stone, Gerry Baldacci , Jane Saxl , Ed Barrett, Dale Theriault and Owen Butler. 1. Stable Fees Staff was requested to bring to the meeting their recommendations regarding future stall rental fees . Mr . Theriault passed out information projecting income for the 1990-91 off-season stall rentals . At $9 . 00 per week per stall ( including rent from hay and tack stalls ) , based upon an estimated 144 stalls , income would total $46 , 656 . At $10 . 00 per stall , projected income would total $51 , 840 for the 36-week period. If $5 . 00 per week per horse were charged during the racing season, a projected $22 , 800 would be received based upon an average of 380 stalls . Since historically stall rents are not charged during the racing season at most tracks and Bangor has already mailed out stall applications for this season, staff recommended that these rates not be put into place until the 1991 racing season. The committee decided not to set stall rates for the 1990-91 winter season until they have more information. Staff is to come up with all associated costs including utilities, repairs , administration and all other expenses which should be allocated to barns . The committee did vote unanimously ( Sosnaud, Stone and Blanchette ) to put the $5 . 00 racinq season fee into effect for this racing season. A notice should be mailed as soon as possible to all stall applicants and should be posted in the barns. The committee • requested that Mr. Sosnaud be shown the notice before this action. _, • PAGE 2 The committee will not meet on April 18 for its regular monthly • meeting.
