PUBLIC HEARINGS
Item No. 1 58 Broadway – Phyllis Shapiro/Timothy Harvey
To consider a request for a Certificate of Appropriateness to change the color of
the shutters from blue to green.
Action Taken: A Certificate of Appropriateness was granted/denied by a vote of 5
to 0 with the condition that the applicant use a darker green than proposed.
Item No. 2 137 Main Street – Ervin W. Morrison, Sr., Erv’s Barber Shop
To consider a request for a Certificate of Appropriateness and Design Review
approval to install a projecting sign.
Action Taken: Certificate of Appropriateness and Design Review approval
granted/denied by a vote of 5 to 0 with the condition that a wrought iron bracket
be used to hang signage and that the bracket penetrate only the wooden portion of
the building.
Item No. 3 28 Main Street – Stephen C. Smith
Applicant requested to be removed from agenda and to be placed back on at a
later date.

Item No. 4 191 Broadway – Dan Sykes
To consider a request for Certificate of Appropriateness to reconstruct a chimney.
Action Taken: Certificate of Appropriateness granted/denied by a vote of 5 to 0
with the condition that repair is done in-kind and that the chimney is painted to
match.
The next scheduled meeting is Thursday, November 13, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council
Chambers.
