PUBLIC COMMENTS: Nick Bearce,27 Dillingham Street,stated that the issues
surrounding the school committee were serious. Mr.Bearce expressed that the people
have lost their confidence in the voting process, and that there is nothing more
important in a Democracy. He further stated that the cost of$10,000 is a minor issue to
preserve democracy. He urged the Council to encourage public comment on the
issue. Mr.Ron Green,President of Local 772, urged the council to resolve the
twenty-three month contract negotiation. issues.

Steps in the contract,and stated that he had been employed
as a firefighter for 12 year and half of those he had not
received a pay raise. Mr. York stated that the City Manager
had done a decent job.
