COUNCILOR 06-105 ORDINANCE Amending Chapter 291,Sections 43 and 44,of the Code of the GRATWICK ICity of Bangor—Wintertime Parking ACTION Motion Made and Seconded for Passage Motion Made and Seconded to Amend by Substitution I Passed Motion Made and Seconded for Passage as Amended Sally Bates,Business&Economic Development Officer, I Explained that residents&landlords had approached her suggesting the removal of the Winter Parking Ban. Ms.Bates indicated that this is a way to promote residency I In the downtown area. Suzanne Kelly, a landlord for downtown buildings, stated that The parking limitations does deter potential residents. Chief Winslow stated that he was concerned about the potential Of an increased number of cars that will need to be towed,and added I That there would need to be plenty of notice given prior to towing. Chief Winslow expressed further concern over confusion resulting From after-storm clean-up procedures. I Dana Wardwell,Public Works Director, reminded the Council that The streets need to be clear of cars to facilitate snow removal. He Stated that he would prefer a city-wide policy.
