COUNCILOR I Called to Order at 7:30 p.m. Chaired by Council Chair Cashwell Councilors Presnet: All Except Allen IAdjourned at 915 p.m. PUBLIC RECOGNITION: NATIONAL COMMITTEE FOR EMPLOYER CASHWELL SUPPORT OF THE GUARD AND RESERVE ICouncil Chair Cashwell introduced John Simpson,Maine State Chair, Arthur Comstock,State Committee Member,and Major Steven Hatt, I Executive Director of the Maine Committee for Employer Support For the Guard and Reserve. Chair Cashwell recognized several City of Bangor Employees including Patricia Brooks of the Assessing Department,Kevin Prosser of the Bangor International Airport,David Hallett of Parks&Recreation Department, I Ward Gagner,Joel Nadeau, Carol Bragdon,Michael Jewett, Thomas Reagan, Christoperh Blanchard of the Bangor Police Department,and Charles Rodway, Phillip Hamm,Daniel Landers,and Christopher McKenna of the Bangor Fire Department I For their service in the National Guard or Reserve. Council Chair Cashwell signed A 5-Star Statement of Support for the Guard and Reserve. Most agreed That the noise problems have been reduced during winter, But question how that noise reduction will be diminished in Warmer weather. Speakers included John `Jack"Collins,President Of Franklin Place,Irene Hodges of Franklin Place, ? Case of Franklin Place, &Gerald Oleson, representing 15 residents of Court St. Owners Matthew&Patrick Brann clarified that the permit Was for a live DJ, and that they were willing to continue to work With the local residents to improve the noise problems. They expressed Some confusion about the status of planning board authorization And had been waiting to hear from someone in the City before Completing any work Chief Don Winslow spoke in detail about the number of calls to This establishment. He explained that g142 calls had been received, Of which 76 were not concerning, and 66 were of concern. He agreed That there had been fewer calls this winter. Chief Winslow added that There were eight instances where the evening crew had to stay over For extra coverage due to Club Gemini.
