MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING BANGOR CITY COUNCIL – AUGUST 26, 2013
Meeting called to order at 7:30 PM

RECOGNITION: Recognized Kevin McLaren’s promotion to the Rank of Sergeant
PUBLIC COMMENT Rick Fournier, Chair of the Folk Festival, thanked the City of Bangor
and its employees along with the 750 volunteers who worked together
on this year’s festival.
Michael Alpert, 58 Highland Avenue, congratulated the Folk Festival
organizers. Mr. Alpert questioned whether the Waterfront Concerts
contract was going out to competitive bid. City Manager Conlow
advised Mr. Alpert that the contract was in negotiation and suggested
that he meet with City Solicitor Heitmann on this matter.
Vernon Leeman, 24 Pleasant Street, complimented the City on its
website and the ease of lodging a concern as well as the quick response
he received.
Jim Labrecque, 323 Stillwater Avenue, thanked the City Council for its
hard work. Mr. Labrecque was concerned with the rate of growth in
drug use within the city and felt it needed to be addressed.
