Recognition: Proclaimed April 9, 2013 as National Service Recognition Day in
Bangor
PUBLIC COMMENT Danny Lafayette spoke in favor of keeping the Bangor Auditorium and
Civic Center to complement the Cross Insurance Center so that more
events could take place at the same time.
Skip Black stated he had spoken with the City Council about 4 months
ago and had told them that the metal on the Cross Insurance Center was
wavy and dented and the City should not release the final payment to
Cianbro until the metal was replaced.

Public Hearing Opened
Lee Chick, President of the Library Board of Trustees, supported the
Council’s consideration of the bond.
Bob Kelly, Library Trustee, reported that the Building Committee invited
five companies to bid. They received four bids and interviewed the two
lowest bids. They opted to go with the lowest bid, Roof Systems of Maine
of Bangor. If approved by the Council and voters, construction will
th
begin on June 19.
Bill Sullivan, a member of the Friends of the Library, spoke in favor of
the bond and the many services provided by the library.
Frank Bragg, Vice President of the Bangor Public Library encouraged
the Council to support this order.
