Action Taken: Certificate of Appropriateness approval granted by a vote of 5 to 0. 2. 131 Main Street – Penobscot Theatre/Scot R.C. Levy To consider a request for Certificate of Appropriateness and Design Review approval to repaint the lower façade and install two exterior wall lanterns. Action Taken: Certificate of Appropriateness and Design Review approval granted by a vote of 5 to 0 with the condition that the applicant work with HPC staff to determine the appropriate “art Deco” type light fixtures to use and then get the approval by the HPC. 3. 217 Broadway – Timothy Harvey To consider a request for Certificate of Appropriateness to change the front deck railings and balusters to match existing. Action Taken: Certificate of Appropriateness granted by a vote of 5 to 0. 4. 71 Broadway – Law Offices of Dean A. Beaupain, LLC To consider a request for Certificate of Appropriateness to enclose existing covered porch, reset granite steps on Broadway. Action Taken: Regarding the enclosing of the covered porch, the application was withdrawn by the applicant. Regarding the resetting of the granite steps, it was determined that the resetting of granite steps falls under repair and maintenance and does not require Certificate of Appropriateness approval. 5. 40 High Street – Anastasia International To consider a request for Certificate of Appropriateness approval to rehabilitate the building. Action Taken: Certificate of Appropriateness approval granted by a vote of 5 to 0 with the condition that the applicant brings back the proposal for the slate/asphalt roof, the shingle exposure and the west doorway. 6. 158 Main Street – Arthur Brountas To consider a request for Certificate of Appropriateness and Design Review approval to construct a deck to the rear of the Tavern. Action Taken: Certificate of Appropriateness and Design Review approval granted by a vote of 5 to 0. The next scheduled meeting is Thursday, August 11 2005 at 7:00 p.m. in the third floor Council Chambers.
