HomeMy WebLinkAbout2006-09-14 Historic Preservation Commission Minutes HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION Minutes of September 14, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. Third Floor Council Chambers MINUTES Commission Members Present: Sara Martin Charles Boothby Paul Pasquine Roch LeBlanc Commission Consultant Present: Bob Kelly City Staff Present: Jeremy Martin PUBLIC HEARINGS 1. 39 West Broadway – James Leonard To consider a request for Certificate of Appropriateness approval to install fence and extend the existing fence. Action Taken: Certificate of Appropriateness approval granted by a vote of 4 to 0. 2. 37 Pond Street – Dennis Mullins To consider a request for Certificate of Appropriateness approval to replace existing, worn asphalt shingles on roof and awnings with architectural shingles. Action Taken: Certificate of Appropriateness approval granted by a vote of 4 to 0. 3. 15 Fifth Street – Bangor Theological Seminary To consider a request for Certificate of Appropriateness approval to repair the carriage house at the Hannibal Hamlin House. Action Taken: Certificate of Appropriateness approval granted by a vote of 4 to 0 with the condition that two swinging doors are used instead of one swinging and one sliding and that the decorative dental work be restored. 4. 23 Hammond Street – Noor Khan To consider a request for Design Review approval to install four exterior lights to illuminate the wall sign. Action Taken: Design Review approval granted by a votw of 4 to 0 with the condition that the applicant submit revised more appropriate lighting specifications to the Code Enforcement Office to be approved by Jeremy Martin and Bob Kelly The next scheduled meeting is Thursday, October 12, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. in the third floor Council Chambers.
