Paul Pasquine Wayne Mallar Associate Member Present: Karen Hornberger Don Lewis III Commission Consultant Present: Bob Kelly City Staff Present: Jeremy Martin PUBLIC HEARINGS 1. 97-99 Ohio Street – Leland J. Lutz To consider a request for a Certificate of Appropriateness to install shutter. Shutters proposed to be solid wood raised panels painted black. Action Taken: Certificate of Appropriateness granted by a vote of 5 to 0. 2. 120 Park Street – Unitarian Universalist Church To consider a request for Certificate of Appropriateness approval to install two signs; one freestanding 36” x 48” sign to replace the existing freestanding sign on Park, the sign is to be perpendicular with the street and to be located no closer to the street than the closest portion of the existing sign and a second sign is a projecting sign matching the sign that was damaged in the 1998 ice storm. Action Taken: Certificate of Appropriateness granted by a vote of 5 to 0. 3. 6 Central Street – House Revivers To consider a request for Design Review approval to add a vent for a new bathroom. Action Taken: Design Review approval granted by a vote of 5 to 0. 4. 39 and 47 West Broadway – Daryl DeJoy/Penobscot Solar Design To consider a request for Certificate of Appropriateness approval to install 36 solar panels on the roof of the pool house at 47 West Broadway and 24 solar panels on the barn at 39 West Broadway. Action Taken: The application was amended and a Certificate of Appropriateness was granted by a vote of 5 to 0. The application as approved provides for after-the-fact approval for the installation of 36 solar panels on the pool house at 47 West Broadway and the addition of 24 solar panels to the pool house at the same location (47 West Broadway.) As amended the application proposes no solar panels to be installed on the barn at 39 West Broadway. 5. 72 Broadway – Lee Souweine To consider a request for Certificate of Appropriateness approval to replace two doors and four windows. Action Taken: The application was divided into three separate requests for Certificate of Appropriateness. The first request for Certificate of Appropriateness to replace four windows as detailed in the application was granted by a vote of 5 to 0. The second request for Certificate of Appropriateness to replace a door which faces the parking lot at 72 Broadway was granted by a vote of 5 to 0. The third request for Certificate of Appropriateness to replace the door on Penobscot Street was withdrawn by the applicant. This request will be brought back to the Commission for review at a later date. The next scheduled meeting is Thursday, September 13, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. in the third floor Council Chambers.
