HomeMy WebLinkAbout2009-01-09 Historic Preservation Commission Minutes HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION Minutes of January 9, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. Third Floor Council Chambers MINUTES Commission Members Present: Denise Simoneau Don Lewis Wayne Mallar Historical Consultant: Bob Kelly City Staff Present: Jeremy Martin PUBLIC HEARINGS 1. 51-53 High Street – L.G.Van Peursem, Jr. To consider a request for Certificate of Appropriateness to replace storm windows. Action Taken: Due to a lack of a quorum the HPC could not take action on this item. However, the three members in attendance approved the storm windows in concept, but required the applicant to come back in February for formal approval. The members in attendance felt that it would be not necessary for the applicant to be in attendance in February as the lack of the quorum at tonight’s meeting was not the fault of the applicant. . DICUSSION ITEMS 1. Intersection/Signalization improvements at Broadway and Cumberland in the National Register Broadway Historic District, as part of MDOT’s Section 106 review. HPC reviewed and made suggestions and comments on type of poles (placement and color) Color was issue most important to the HPC. 2. Bangor Museum and Center for History training programs. Dana Lippitt from the BMCH discussed upcoming training program. th The next scheduled meeting is Thursday, February 12, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. in the third floor Council Chambers.
