HomeMy WebLinkAbout2017-08-28 City Council Minutes MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING BANGOR CITY COUNCIL—AUGUST 28, 2017 Meeting Called to Order at 7:30 PM Chaired by Council Chair Baldacci Councilors Absent:Nealley Meeting Adjourned at 8:44 PM PROCLAMATION Proclaimed September Childhood Cancer Awareness Month PROCLAMATION Proclaimed September Substance Abuse Recovery Month and Supporting Bangor Area Recovery Network PUBLIC COMMENT Jim Labrecque was not in favor of the city being involved with the Greater Bangor Solarize partnership. He did not feel it was the city's business to promote any one product. Paul Amoroso indicated he owned 18 acres and 130 residential units abutting the property for the proposed psych unit and thought another area should be looked at that would not directly affect the value and quality of life in that area. Karen Marysdaughter, a member of Bangor Solarize, indicated that across the country it has been state, county and local governments that have lead the process of solarization. Rick Fournier thanked the city for its support for another successful Folk Festival. Senator Geoffrey Gratwick informed the Council that the deadline for submitting legislation was September 25th.
